Friends and Family,
It's another Monday, so this means
another Weekly Update from the Mission Field in the "Promise Land"
here in Orlando. Sadly, this is my last week here in Winter Park. I have truly
made some eternal friendships here in this ward, and it will be hard to say my
goodbyes to the members tonight. On the other hand, my Mission
President has given me the opportunity to be a Zone Leader! This is
excited for me, but once again, I am greatly humbled. For this past year, I
have looked up the the Zone Leaders though out the mission, and now having the
opportunity to be one, will be a big step for me. I have some big shoes to
fill, and am excited to grow from this opportunity.
Monday- We had dinner with one of the
members that lives along the shoreline of Lake Maitland. His home is giant, and
Elder Wesemann and I probably had too much fun going up his elevator to get to
the balcony where we ate a classy dinner! Later that night, we tried to find
others that had a great holiday.

Tuesday- Or investigator Bob had one of
his best friends come and visit him on the Holiday and as they were talking,
Bob brought up he had been meeting with missionaries, and how this experience
has changed him. Great missionary work Bob! His friend wanted to meet with us
first thing Tuesday
morning and we are now working with him. Such a cool miracle!
Wednesday- We met with Tyrone on
Wednesday, and he was just so excited to see us. He gave us both a big hug and
was just full of gratitude. After teaching him the Plan of Salvation, he was
excited to research his ancestors and do Baptisms for them at the Temple soon!
Our hunt for less active members continued through out Wednesday evening.
We ended up the day by going to eat at the member who came to church for the
first time in several years. He was just excited for how his life is changing.
He expressed that he has seen blessings come into his life in so many ways
since he has been meeting with us and attending church.
Thursday- Thursday was
full of meetings! We had a meeting with all of the Zone Leaders and Future Zone
Leaders to talk about how the work can progress through out to mission.
Afterwards, we were able to have a lesson with an investigator, then head to an
special 8 PM District
Meeting! Meetings, meetings, meetings! I learned a lot from this day, but my
legs felt like jello from the lack of biking.
Friday-
Weekly Planning was a success this week.
We had a very thorough planning session as Transfers approach this upcoming
week. We finished up our day by biking around some lakes, and again, the Lord
blessed us with prepared people. Elder Wesemann and I have really tried
"talk with everyone" this is good for both of us to get out of our
situation and have some awkward situations come our way. (Talking to a lady
while her dog is going to the bathroom, trying to talk to people with their
headphones in who turn the other way once they see us, etc...)
Saturday-
We were very busy Saturday! We had a lot
of appointments, which kept us going all day long. It was a cool experience for
me to watch Elder Wesemann take the lead in the teaching situations. Thinking
back to where he was 12 weeks ago, to where he is now was pretty awesome.
Sunday-
It always seems like Sundays are always
crazy. However, this Sunday was very calm, and nothing too extraordinary
happened. All of the rides for our investigators worked out, they enjoyed
Sacrament, and made it home safely! Sunday night we went to start saying some
goodbyes to the members!
Big changes are coming my way this
upcoming week. Yes, I'm excited for them, but i'm also pretty nervous. I've
never really liked change, but that's about all a mission is. As I work to
adapt to a new area, with a new companion, with new responsibilities,
this will be an exciting week for me! Thank you again for all of the support I'm receiving.
With Love,
Elder Doman
This is Rick, who went on a temple tour with Brock a few weeks ago, then moved. He was baptized this Saturday and got a an email from him!
