Friends and Family,
This week absolutely flew by! As I was
thinking back over the week, it
was fun to see how much we were able to
accomplish in 7 days!
Monday- We spent most of the day playing
some basketball and other fun
games at the church! We are starting to
rally up most of the
missionaries in the zone to meet up At
our chapel so we are able to
play some fun games!
Tuesday- We hit the ground running
Tuesday morning have some big time
lessons with Serena. When we showed up she
told us she found out how
to have the scriptures read to her and
she was so excited. She was
loving it! Tuesday afternoon we met with
Leona. She enjoyed the hymns
a lot more this week so that was
definitely a bonus. In her own words
she said, "I'm starting to like
ya'lls songs. That one about come come
the saints, made me want to stand up,
start marching, to praise the
good Lord" she's awesome! We met
with Jackie who was baptized in May
and she finished all of the Book of
Mormon and finished the Doctrine
and Covenants this week! Woohoo! She was
really excited and is loving
how the gospel has changed her.
Wednesday- Every other transfer, all of
the missionaries have an
interview with President Berry. The best
way they have decided to do
this is during the weekly District
Meetings. They stacked the DeLand
Zone up to have all of the District
Meetings on Wednesday so President
Berry doesn't have to make several trips
out to the boonies. It was
our job as Zone Leaders to have each 2
hour meeting effective and give
trainings and role plays! So our
Wednesday was really repetitive. We
had back to back to back District
Meetings! It was fun to be with and
see all of the missionaries in the Zone
all day. We were greatly
rewarded with a dinner with President
Berry to finish off the night!
Thursday- we dedicated Thursday as our
finding day! We spent a lot of
week there is one day that is used to
find some more investigators!
This week was rough, and we didn't see
too much success. We were
walking on "Beach Street"
which I guess is really popular.
fellowship with our ward! Friday night
on the way home, "Grandpa"
called us and wanted some help
connecting his kindle to his wifi.
Luckily we did it pretty quickly and he
offered to take us to get some
frozen yogurt! This story is the perfect
way to describe grandpa! We
had just gotten our dish, and sat to our
table when a big family of 6
came walking through the door. As they
were going through the line to
get their frozen yogurt, one of the kids
who was maybe 5 years old
started to throw a temper tantrum. After
about 3 minutes of jumping up
and down, grandpa turned over to him,
pointed his finger and said
"shut up!" It got really quiet
through out the restaurant, and the
only sound was the music playing. All
eyes turned to him and he says,
"what? There was too much
noise coming out of this kids mouth so I
told him to shut it!" (New York
accent) it was a long silence, and no
to try that sometime." It was
hilarious! We were laughing so hard the
rest of the night!
Saturday- exchanges up in Bunnell with
Elder Black! It was a great day!
Sunday- we had a lot of success Sunday
with our investigators feeling
the spirit at sacrament. We finish up
the day by giving a blessing at
the Halifax Hospital right next to the
speedway. Let me tell ya, it
was one of the nicest hospitals I've
seen!
It was a great week, and I'm really
looking forward to the rest of the
transfer! Things are looking good down
here in Florida as fall
approaches. It's amazing how quickly
time goes by! Again, thanks for
all the support. With Love!
-Elder Doman
Mosiah 2:41-And moreover, I would desire that ye should consider on the
blessed and happy state of those that keep the commandments of God. For behold,
they are blessed in all things, both temporal and spiritual; and if they hold
out faithful to the end they are received into heaven, that thereby they may
dwell with God in a state of never-ending happiness. O remember, remember that
these things are true; for the Lord God hath spoken it.
